Welcome to my Blog!
Hello family, friends, visitors, and fellow bunnies!
First off, why Stephanie the Ski Bunny? Well, this blog was inspired by two of my favourite skiers - Gilles Le Skieur (gillesleskieur.over-blog.com) and JP Roy the Racer (jproy.blogspot.com). In contemplating the conception of my blog, I figured that I needed a name too. This led me to a very important existential question? Who am I? The answer to my question came quite simply. I'm not an extreme skier, a racer, or a jibber. I'm just a girl who likes to ski - plain and simple. This translated into the proverbial "ski bunny."
I would, however, like to make a distinction! When I talk about being a bunny, I don't mean the iconic bunnies of the 80's and the early 90's made famous in B list movies such as Ski School and Aspen Extreme - characterised big hair, fur head bands, and the figure hugging bright fuchsia one-piece suits. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's ok! You’re not missing much! And, definitely do not go rent these movies (unless you're masochistic, have 2 hours of precious life to waste, dig really, really bad 80's ski movies, or simply want to reminisce about fluorecent zinc oxide, ski ballet, and rear entry ski boots!).
I digress! I'm referring to a new breed of bunny. The chicks who dig getting out there and doing their thang on the mountain. The girls who like to explore new terrain, get first tracks, and push themselves to the limit. That's the species of bunny I'm talking about!
This blog is all about my travels, my friends, my family and the quest for the ultimate mountain experience - new terrain, new tracks, and new challenges!
